This holiday card was a special gift for family, friends and clients. I first sketched out the idea, scanned, and then created it digitally. I prepared and burned a screen with the selected design. Once the screen was ready I printed the cards, numbered them and personalized each one with a hand written message on the back. The paper used was a blue and black card stock. This was combined with either metallic gold or white ink.
This is a handmade self-initiated promotional piece that was mailed out to potential clients / agencies. I wanted to give an introduction of myself and showcase some of my design work. So, the booklet was designed with an intro, a brief overview, quick resume, skills, design work on the fold out page and a call to action at the end. The booklet was all hand measured, cut, scored, and assembled by me.
The goal of this project was to create a self-promotional piece to hand out to local people in Western Massachusetts. I wanted to create something special, not your typical promotional card, but something with unique qualities.
If you have ever worked with me before you will know that much of my work is very hands on and mapped out from the start to the end. In the beginning I do research, brainstorming and sketching. So, I wanted this card to reflect the hard work, hands on, and the personal touch I provide.
This self-promotional piece was all hand measured, cut, taped, typeset, printed and assembled by me. I used my Kelsey 5x8 letterpress, which I recently restored and brought back to life. This was my first real letterpress project I have ever done. The pictures below give a brief visual guide throughout the process. The card reads: “Hello my name is Justin Zucco and I'm a graphic and web designer. I'm excited to work with more local people. Please take a look at my work and get in touch. Hand printed and typeset, please share.”

The New Teacher Center (NTC) is a non-profit dedicated to improving student learning by accelerating the effectiveness of new teachers and school leaders.
The identity I designed illustrates a journey. It uses “arms” and a human approach to communicate nurturing and protection. As a pattern, it speaks to the meaningful and exponential impact NTC has on schools, teachers and students. The lines depict a path that represent continuity and a network of people coming together to shift perceptions around education. As a whole, it portrays the ability of one to influence and motivate others. Work done at BRIGADE.

Midwife's Billing Service, Inc. is a full service maternity billing company located in Wendell, MA. Marnie contacted me to redesign the logo. The company is very proficient, but needed a serious visual update to stand above competitors and to reach out to customers in a professional manner. It was my task to create a new look and feel for Midwife's Billing Service, Inc. The goal was to create something that was modern, crisp and clean like new growth in an old forest. The logo accomplishes just that. It represents growth, life, womb inside of a belly and looks like a stamp of approval.
